Summer CS Announcement for the Week of 8/18/2026

  1. This will be the last weekly announcement from the 2025/2026 Advising ELMS page! Keep an eye out for an invitation to the 2026/2027 Advising Elms page to stay up to date with department announcements and current internship/job/research resources.
  2. School starts soon! Reach out to your academic advisor if you have any questions about finalizing your Fall schedule before the first day of classes on August 31.
  3. Summer Session 2 classes end this week on 8/21; if you are intending to graduate this summer and have not applied for graduation yet, please email CMNS at cmnsque [at] umd [dot] edu () as soon as possible to request a late graduation application
  4. Fall CS Career Fair 9/28, Register on Handshake (coming soon!)
  5. Welcome Back Social 8/31 from 1-3 PM
  6. CMSC470 has been added to the schedule of classes for the Fall! Please reach out to your advisor for course permissions if you are interested in registering 
  7. Thinking of completing research for credit this Fall? Please reach out to your advisor for information on how to register for CMSC499A, the CMSC upper level research elective.
