IT Programmer Analyst

Exempt 12 months, full-time

 


The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment at the University of Maryland has an exciting opportunity for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer. This position supports an Oracle 10g data warehouse and will consist of half time PL/SQL development and maintenance, a quarter time data analysis using the IRPA data warehouse, and the remaining quarter time consolidating performance data from various applications into the data warehouse.

Duties include:

Creating and maintaining PL/SQL programs, packages, functions, procedures, and triggers.  Creating new PL/SQL scripts to support the data warehouse.  Working with academic and service offices to analyze requirements for data, reports and enhancements to existing reports, and to plan the integration of technical solutions with business applications, systems, and data warehouses.  Designing and development of relational database management objects (tables, schemas, indexes, materialized views, partitions, stored procedures, macros, etc.), database design principles, data administration standards, and information security terminology.

 

Job Qualifications:

 

Hands-on experience in SQL development.

Strong Unix Shell Scripting experience.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus one year experience, OR Masters degree in computer science or related field.

Strong business communication skills to translate technical work to analytic environment and communicate with users and decision makers.

Work in a team environment.

Java, Javascript, and ColdFusion programming a plus.
