Description: Â The MUST program provides scholarships and internships to undergraduates pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The MUST Project is open to all students and is particularly focused on engaging students from underserved and underrepresented groups (Women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and persons with disabilities) to enter these fields. Students taking part in the MUST program also benefit year-round from tutoring, lecture series and mentoring from STEM faculty and peers. The MUST program provides direct access to multiple mentors who will provide academic tutoring, guidance, personal and professional support, and advice regarding professional organizations, graduate school, other scholarships, and careers. The mentor team will include: 1) an assigned faculty mentor, 2) a graduate mentor, and 3) a peer mentor. Students who maintain the required minimum grade point average will also be eligible for a paid internship at a NASA center or other research facility.
Award: Each year, the MUST Project will support approximately 100 undergraduate students with a one-year competitive scholarship of up to one-half of tuition, not to exceed $10,000. Who Can Apply: US Citizens – Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors – GPA of 3.0 required – applicants must be members of an underrepresented group, which includes women, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

Description: The NASA Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) Summer Scholars Program, a component of the Institute, is a ten-week summer research experience for graduate and undergraduates in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at the NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) in Moffett Field, California.
In addition to conducting research with NASA scientists, scholars have an opportunity to participate in a variety of professional development training sessions that include modules on:
1) Leadership Development,
2) Scientific Communication,
3) Presentation Skills,
4) Team Building,
5) Interviewing Techniques,
6) Resume Building and Networking Skills, and
7) Responsible Research Ethics.
Scholars will culminate their ten-week experience by presenting their research findings to their mentors, peers, and the NASA Ames research community at the annual Poster Symposium.
Award: Ten week paid summer research internship at NASA Ames Research Park in Moffett Field, CA.
