SYSTEMS ANALYST (WEB DEVELOPER)

Position Summary: SUMMER EMPLOYMENT thru the end of August 2008
Provide PHP web programming support for the division of University Relations. Develop new web applications and provide support to the Advancement portal web applications.

Minimum qualifications required to perform work:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or other information technology related field required. Other majors must demonstrate relevant experience. Authorized to work in the U.S. required.

Experience:
• 3 years of web development experience, with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in PHP, required
• 3 years experience with object oriented programming required
• 2 years experience with relational databases required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Detailed knowledge of object oriented principles
• Detailed knowledge of relational database concepts
• Detailed knowledge of server-side scripting
• Detailed knowledge on N-Tier Application Architecture and web components
• Knowledge of Apache configuration
• Familiar with open source development
• Familiar with portal development and maintenance
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate web development best practices
• Ability to work effectively with end users of all skill levels
• Ability to work independently, set priorities and manage multiple projects
• Ability to effectively learn and apply new technologies
• Knowledge of J2EE is a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Majority of hours spent using a computer in traditional office setting.
