It’s not too late to line up a summer job! The Airborne Electronic Warfare Systems group at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC has several openings for science and engineering students looking for summer jobs as well as entry level full time employment for recent graduates. (Working with fellow Terps too - check it out. -JMP)
Students with backgrounds in EE, CS, or Physics will find plenty of challenging real-world projects whether your interests are hardware design, software development, modeling & simulation of communications signals & systems, systems engineering, or data collection & analysis.

The AEWS group specializes in the area of radar and communication signals analysis and jamming. Projects typically draw from many engineering specialties including electromagnetics, antenna specification & measurement, analog & digital circuit design, RF receiver & transmitter design, software control of embedded systems, system integration, packaging fabrication, EMI & thermal management, and laboratory testing on the bench and anechoic chamber.

You’ll assist experienced engineers (some former Terps) throughout the entire design-build-test development cycle of projects and products that fulfill current and future needs for our customers, the US Navy and Marine Corps. The range of knowledge is so broad we fully expect to mentor and cross-train you in areas outside your academic training.

It’s not all lab work. Most projects are frequently field-tested at military test ranges around the country as well as internationally (Australia, Bahamas, Canada). Students may be asked to support off-site testing.

For immediate consideration, please send your resume directly to Dr Greg Cowart (Gregory.Cowart@nrl.navy.mil).
