Setting goals can be hard. Here are Sean Covey’s 5 keys to setting goals from his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens along with a quote to help remember them.
- Count the Cost
- “Counting the cost will always add a touch of needed realism to your goal.”
- Put it in Pen
- “A goal not written is only a wish.”
- Just do it!
- “Do or do not. There is no try.” - Jedi Master Yoda
- Use Momentous Moments
- “Things with beginnings and ends carry momentum.”
- Rope Up
- “You’ll accomplish much more in life if you’ll rope up and borrow strength from others.”
- This means partner up, ask others to help you*, cheer you on, do your goal with you, etc.
*When it’s allowed.
