Setting goals can be hard. Here are Sean Covey’s 5 keys to setting goals from his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens along with a quote to help remember them.

  1. Count the Cost
    • “Counting the cost will always add a touch of needed realism to your goal.”
  2. Put it in Pen
    • “A goal not written is only a wish.”
  3. Just do it!
    • “Do or do not. There is no try.” - Jedi Master Yoda
  4. Use Momentous Moments
    • “Things with beginnings and ends carry momentum.”
  5. Rope Up
    • “You’ll accomplish much more in life if you’ll rope up and borrow strength from others.”
    • This means partner up, ask others to help you*, cheer you on, do your goal with you, etc.

*When it’s allowed.
