Be careful not to fall into the IDE auto-complete trap. Sure, the IDE may auto-complete almost everything you type, but remember when you are taking a quiz or an exam, you don’t get the helpful little drop down box.
So it is important for you to pay attention to syntax and spelling! In the end, you’re responsible for knowing programming languages inside and out.
Remember to study what you don’t and remember what you do.
1337 5P33K is a tip of the week series written by people who were once in your shoes. Feel free to post a comment and if you have a question email Brandi Adams at bkadams@cs.umd.edu and she and I will do our best to find the answer.
