Primary responsibilities for these positions include the development of software and database tools for generation, display and analysis of genomic data.
BIOINFORMATICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Develop software and database tools for generation, display, and analysis of genomic data. Four years of education, experience and/or training is required. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in biological or computer science, with at least 2 years experience in bioinformatics software.
BIOINFORMATICS ANALYST
Contribute to genomic sequencing projects and scientific analysis of the data generated by those projects by using variety of bioinformatics techniques and software applications. The selected candidate will generate, annotate, assemble, and analyze data in genomic sequencing exercises, and prepare for further annotation, research, or publication. Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Bioinformatics and 2 years’ experience in genomics laboratory setting, including use of relevant bioinformatics applications and experience manipulating large data sets.
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
An exciting opportunity to join the information technology group and help setup a state-of-the-art computational facility. We intend to accomplish this goal by leveraging a state-of-the-art computational facility, and expertise of our domain experts, computational scientists, engineers, and our partnerships with other universities and organizations. Primary responsibilities for this position include deployment and management of Windows, Linux, and Macintosh desktops and servers. The position requires at least 4 years of appropriate education, experience and/or training with networked centrally operated and supported computing systems. Bachelor’s degree and/or coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems is desirable. The preferred candidate will have at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience as systems administrator.
